Nathan Marsak is a historian of Los Angeles and author of Bunker Hill Los Angeles: Essence of Sunshine and Noir (Angel City Press, 2020)

Gordon Pattison’s grandmother, Margaret Pattison, owned the Castle at 325 South Bunker Hill. His father continued to lease the building until the City of Los Angeles took it through eminent domain.

Don Spivack worked at the Community Redevelopment Agency in the 1980s and 1990s.

The Bunker Hill Refrain advisory group brings together diverse voices, including the descendants of former residents, academics, and policymakers. This carefully assembled team will help ensure historical accuracy while honoring the community memories and lived experiences of Bunker Hill’s residents.
